Frequently asked questions

  • Do I need a referral to access exercise physiology at Novita?

No referral is needed. You can contact us directly to get started.

  • Where can I see an exercise physiologist?

Wherever suits you best — at a Novita hub, in your home, at school, in the community or at your local gym.

  • What NDIS funding can be used for exercise physiology?

Supports may be funded through Improved Health & Wellbeing (IH), Improved Daily Living (IDLS) or Early Intervention (EI).

  • Can exercise physiology support mental health?

Yes. Movement supports emotional regulation, confidence, routine and overall wellbeing.

  • What’s the difference between a physiotherapist and an exercise physiologist?

While there are similarities, Physiotherapists focus on assessing and treating injuries, pain and movement challenges, often using hands-on techniques and early-stage rehabilitation. Exercise Physiologists focus on long-term, personalised exercise programs that build strength, confidence, independence and everyday function. Physios support with “getting you moving safely,” while EPs support you to “keep moving well” in real-life settings like home, school or community gyms. At Novita, they often work together to support your goals.
