Wendy shares how Novita has supported her both personally and professionally. From flexible opportunities and training, to creating dedicated therapy spaces for kids and families, she describes feeling valued, respected and encouraged to grow. 

"My work has enabled me to combine two of the things I am most passionate about - children and disability. Since I first stepped into the offices at Novita, I felt welcomed and valued. The skills and experience I arrived with were recognized and I was given flexible opportunities to utilise these. Novita has also supported me in gaining further skills, both from the day-to-day experience of the job as well as learning opportunities, within and outside of the organisation. 

I strongly feel that Novita believes in me and that the company values who I already am but supports me in becoming who I strive to be.  

The support offered to me in my role is invaluable. I feel heard and listened to, recognised and respected.  

When I first arrived at Novita, one of the things I was finding difficult to adjust to was not having a set-up therapy space/playroom to conduct play based therapy sessions. When I shared this struggle with my team leader and manager, I felt like they really cared about what I was saying. Following this, I was supported in fulfilling my vision of setting up two therapy rooms fully kitted out for the kids, teens and young adults I work with.  

Novita has not only supported my professional development and encouraged me in my role as a psychologist, but has also supported my life’s other roles, including being a mum. Novita has supported changes in my working schedule to enable me to accommodate the needs of my family. I could not be more appreciative of this and am thankful that I have been supported in creating a healthy work-life balance for myself.  

One of the things that I value most about my role at Novita is that I have the privilege of working alongside my clients and their families as they go through real life challenges. Being a supportive person who believes in them and encourages them to reach their personal goals is an honour. I often think about what clients have offered me. They have helped me to dig deeper, think more openly and be more flexible in my therapy approaches. The smiles of my clients when they have achieved something are beyond rewarding and I am so thankful for each one of them."

Jayden shares how diverse and fulfilling his regional role is — with access to specialist Novita services that are often not available locally. He values the impact he can make in supporting clients to achieve independence and work towards their goals.  

"I feel proud every time I come to work at Novita. Knowing that what I do can have a real impact on the lives of our clients is incredibly fulfilling.  

There’s no better feeling than seeing someone achieve something they once thought was out of reach knowing you were able to play a small part in it. 

My role is really diverse, which I love!  

Each day brings something new—different clients, different needs, and different ways to make a difference. It keeps things interesting and exciting whilst also allowing me to expand my skills and knowledge. 

By working at Novita, I feel like I am making a significant difference in many people's lives living with a disability.  

The ability to have access to many services (NovitaTech, Home Modifications and Posture/ Seating team) within Novita that typically would not be available to regionally based services provide a huge point of difference in allowing us to support our clients in the best way possible, maximising their independence."

Vaidehi describes her role as dynamic and rewarding, with constant opportunities to learn. She values the collaborative team culture, diverse responsibilities, and Novita’s investment in professional development. 

"Novita has provided me with numerous opportunities to expand my skills, from learning bites to group supervision. The support in my professional development has been key in helping me learn at my own pace and grow within my role. 

My role at Novita is very dynamic, and there is always something new to learn. I’m given the opportunity to engage in a variety of tasks, which keeps things interesting and enjoyable. The ability to have diverse responsibilities allows me to use my skills in many ways. 

I feel incredibly supported by my team. My colleagues and team leader are always available for advice, support, and guidance. Whenever I have a question or face a challenge, I know I can reach out, and I will always receive the help I need. It’s a great environment to thrive in. 

Being part of Novita gives me a real sense of pride because I know I’m contributing to a company that is at the forefront of providing innovative and meaningful support for people with disability. Novita is continually evolving and leading the way in disability services and being a part of that is inspiring. I feel like I’m contributing to something larger than myself, and that brings a great sense of purpose to my work. 

From day one, I’ve felt encouraged to ask questions and seek guidance from my team leader and other senior staff. It’s a collaborative environment where everyone’s input is valued, and there’s a genuine desire to help each other succeed. 

One example that stands out is when Novita gradually increased my caseload instead of overwhelming me right away. This approach allowed me time to grow and learn at a manageable pace. Additionally, the learning bites and group supervision have been invaluable resources for gaining new insights and improving my practice."
